1812 -- Uncle Sam's First War, is a "Webumentary" -- an extended series of short videos commemorating the bicentennial of the War of 1812. We will explore the history of the war, the people who participated in it, and how the people of the time lived.

The U.S. had no national anthem in the War of 1812, but it did have Yankee Doodle. One soldier described it in his diary as - "Our national air." As the defeated British forces retreated back down the Chesapeake after their aborted attack on Fort McHenry, the fort's band stood on the ramparts taunting the departing invaders with repeated choruses of Yankee Doodle.

Very well done. With this being the 200th Anniversary, of the War, I hope all can appreciate what this took to make a program of close to 15 mins. in length. Good job to all! I am sure this will be used as a reference to many people as they start their research on America's 1st War. Once again, good job!!!
